How does Dozen Media decide who our lucky winners are?Twice a year, Dozen Media runs the Dozen Academy Awards. To be eligible for a Dozen Academy Award, a site must have been awarded our Seal of Approval for one of our network’s sites. These are allocated based on their performance across a range of editorial and absolute parameters, and every month we re-evaluate all our data to make sure that we don’t miss any rising stars. A huge part of a site’s success is down to you, as we place great importance on your feedback and star ratings. Every site that bears a Dozen Seal of Approval is automatically nominated for the Academy Awards. However, with only 6 awards up for grabs for the whole of the Dozen network, winners will have to beat off some stiff competition, and our demanding editors, to be in with a shot at taking the title! Stunning video sharing site - Vimeo.com - topped the list with its inspirational HD quality and visionary, user-friendly design.  Despite super-tough competition in this category, ilounge.com picked up this award due to its unbeatable iPod, iPhone and iPad news, product reviews and shop.  2009 was the year of LinkedIn.com, a professional social network that is now a cornerstone of international business and communication.  Our editors compared the comparisons and PriceGrabber.com with its iPhone app became the top site for shoppers in 2009.  DroidDoes.com won the award for best online mobile site thanks to its ultra- futuristic design based around a 360 degree dial. |
